Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Personally I don't see why Feghouli, or Ayew shouldn't be given a good run in 'the hole' and we should be looking for a top striker who will get goals and bring in them, Antonio and Lanzini into play. Sigdursson would no doubt improve our team, but is he any better than Lanzini? And if not them surely Lanzini should be looking at the same wage then?

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Another issue is our Chairmen tend to be a season or so behind the current reality of football finances.

Wages are relative and there are some Bob average players in 60 to 80k a week in the league.

Sigurdsson for his end product probably does command that kind of wage in the current climate with increased tv money. We'll be slow to recognise it though and end up outbid based on our " valuations" time and again before being told there is no value available.

Be a superb signing for Everton this and that's a pretty decent price too.

One of the most consistent performers over the past couple of seasons.

We ain't in the running. And you're a fool if you think we are.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
I don't think he'd fit in with us at all. He's an Icelandic Kevin Nolan. If his goals dry up he won't have much to offer the side as he is a bit of a luxury player and needs others to do his donkey work to free him up.

We already have Lanzini who is better in the same position, and a player we should be building the team around.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Errr you do realise he has 13 assists this season in one of the worst sides in the division

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Rossal

That's amazing!!!!!!

BTW Snodgrass had 7 goals in 20 games for a club that got relegated, compared to Gylfi's 9 in 35 for a team who finished with 7 more points.

Stats aren't everything.

I reckon Everton could well be next seasons Southampton on here, based on a few of these posts.

FLAVA OF DA MONTH

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Don't really get your point, are you saying you don't rate him or that he hasn't been very good this season ?

The response was to Alvin for saying take away his goals and he is effectivley useless. Assiting over a quarter of a teams goals over the season proves thats false.

AlvinMartinAllen 3:58 Tue May 23
Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Rossal - He also got sold from a top six side for not being good enough.

Snodgrass also had good STATS for a shit side too.

As I said, we already have Lanzini to play there, who I believe is better all round.

Sorry, didn't see B's post.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
You cant compare Siggy to Snodders im sorry the difference in ability and form over the last few seasons is massive

If you think Lanzini is better fine, id probably agree but id take Sigurddsson and move Lanzini out to the left. But to call him a Icelandic Nolan is very unfair

Trevor B 4:07 Tue May 23
Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
I'm comparing stats, seeing as you brought them up as you always seemingly do so when you know little about the player mentioned.

If you want to talk about ability then do so, not stats that can be easily challenged.

No loss as he is over rated.
He would not suit our team anyway.

Haha so stats can be challenged......but in this case where i've used them they back up my opinion that he is a top player

He should be our priority signing and see if Swansea will take Snodgrass off us in return.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Rossal

where did you mention his quality as a player before you mentioned the stat? all you did was bang on about everton. by all means use stats, when well interpreted, to back up your opinion. but don't base your opinion on stats.

Takashi Miike 4:34 Tue May 23
Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
not surprised if someone gets him before us. we should offer the money they want (£25m) and throw in Sakho for free
